Ecosystem Sustainability Efforts
Most of the boughs cut for Lynch Creek Farm's handmade Christmas wreaths are highland noble fir and come from the Cascade Mountains near Mount St. Helens. The boughs are cut from trees that are 15 to 30 years old. Noble fir bough trees produce a bough that can be harvested every 2 to 3 years without cutting down the tree. This practice of trimming only the lower branches helps to ensure a healthy tree in the future while maintaining a natural and sustainable forest habitat for local wildlife such as black-tailed deer, coyotes and bears. The Washington State Department of Natural Resources has been making an effort for many years to manage noble fir growing areas and improve this reusable resources program. We support their efforts whole-heartedly by purchasing boughs only from tree farmers who promote and utilize environmentally conscious harvesting methods.
About Our Wreath Supplier
Lynch Creek Farm is a family-owned business that was established in Shelton, Washington in 1980.
